When can I start? This program is no longer accepting new students.

length of the program iconHow long is the program? 6 quarters (up to 22 months) 90 total credits full-time or 9 quarters (up to 27 months) of equal credit value.

When do classes meet? Not all classes are offered every quarter and individual class times vary. FLEX, in-person, hybrid, and online options are available.

The Associate in Construction Management DTA/MRP is a special transfer degree that prepares you for a four-year bachelor (or baccalaureate) degree. This degree includes classes in mathematics, accounting, geology, business, physics, humanities, and social sciences that you need to transfer to a university. You should research the admission and graduation requirements of your target university to see if there are any specific classes that you need to take.

The Construction Management DTA/MRP is accepted by three major public universities in Washington (see the Transfer Destinations tab below), but this does not mean that you can enroll automatically in a baccalaureate construction management program. Admission to these programs is competitive, which means that you must apply and be accepted. How can you prepare?

  • Consult the Construction Management DTA/MRP Advising Notes Download Advising Notesfor recommendations based on transfer destinations.
  • Talk to an advisor or instructor to determine the course sequence that works best for you, including pathways for part-time enrollment.
  • Make a plan for your transfer application. You may need to apply to universities several months before you graduate from RTC.
  • Pay attention to class prerequisites! There are three accounting classes, and you also need three mathematics classes.
  • Be aware of which required classes are offered during each quarter:
    • ACCT& 201 is offered fall and winter. ACCT& 202 is offered winter and spring. ACCT& 203 is offered fall and spring.
    • BUS& 201 is offered every quarter, but most students take it winter or summer quarter.
    • ECON& 201 is offered fall and spring. ECON& 202 is offered winter and sometimes summer.
    • All MATH& classes are offered every quarter, including summer.
  • Strongly consider taking the recommended humanities and social science classes in the sequences below. These classes were chosen because they automatically transfer as distribution credit to most universities.

Transfer Destinations

These Washington colleges and universities have agreed to accept 90 credits from the Associate in Construction Management DTA/MRP.

Links should take you to the Construction Management course outline website for that school:

Each school decides how they will transfer classes. Your goal is to earn direct course transfer credit. Some classes will earn direct credit automatically. Other classes might require a review. To make this process go smoothly, save course syllabi and major projects.

You also can use your credits for other bachelor degree programs, especially in business!
