Transfer preparation: Construction Management
Welcome to this special program page about transfer preparation for a bachelor's degree in Construction Management in Washington state.
After fall 2023, we are no longer admitting students to the Associate of Construction Management DTA/MRP degree. Why? Very few students are interested in this program, and its requirements have not been updated by the state since 2007.
You can still take classes to prepare to apply to a university Construction Management program!
If you want to get professional training, we also have a Construction Management certificate and associate degree program.

Advice about Physics
UW requires students to take 10 credits of algebra-based physics or calculus-based physics.
- Algebra-based physics is easier. The math is easier, and so are the calculations and labs you are expected to do.
- RTC only offers calculus-based physics: PHYS& 221 and PHYS& 222.
- It may be a good idea to take physics at another college. Look for PHYS& 114 General Physics I with Lab and PHYS& 115 General Physics II with Lab at Green River, Highline, or Bellevue College.
Advice about Statistics
UW requires a calculus-based statistics class.
- RTC does not offer a class like this.
- Look for MATH 256 Statistics for Business and Social Science at Green River or BA 240 at Bellevue College or BUSN 210 at Highline College.
Advice about Digital Tools
UW requires a three-credit class called CM 260 Digital Tools. Transfer students must take an approved AutoCAD or Revit class.
RTC does not have an officially approved class at this time.
- DFT 113 at RTC is a 5-credit AutoCAD class.
- DFT 117 + DFT 121 (10 credits) are two linked classes about Revit and architectural drafting.
