A few Tips

Teacher Nahid.jpgWelcome to our Advanced ESL Online_W314!

It is great that you could register for this class. You are embarking on a new adventure of explorations and discoveries. Before we start, there are a few things you need to know.

  1. In our work together in "Advanced ESL Online" during next 6 weeks (July 8 - August 15) this summer, the only way we meet is via computer and the internet. As you probably know by now, sometimes technology calls for extra patience. Don't panic. Go at it patiently.
  2. This is a fully online course. You must have finished the "Student Orientation" in CANVAS before you start these lessons. Your success really depends on your time management, your own efforts, your questions, and the amount of sharing in discussions with classmates. You need to know what to do, and how to do it online in order to finish this course successfully.
  3. By "success" I mean that you participate regularly in class by submitting assignments, discussions, video postings ... and improve your English language skills to a point that you can help others improve theirs.
  4. You may participate in this class anytime, anywhere. However, try to finish each week's module by the end of its week.
  5. Start the lessons by clicking on "Modules" on the navigation bar to the left of this page. They are in sequence. That means you must work on these lessons in the order of one after another.
  6. Below every lesson you will see two buttons; one pointing to the left (Previous) and one pointing you to the right (Next). As you finish one item, click on the "Next" button to take you to your next lesson. If you want to review the previous activity, click on the "Previous" button.
  7. Send me e-mails through Canvas. It is the quickest way to receive a response from me.

All the best!
