TOPIC: Renton Technical College (RTC) is replacing our decades-old legacy employee and student management systems with the state-wide adopted Washington State Community Technical College's (WA SBCTC) management system called ctcLink on Feb 28, 2022.

AUDIENCE: All RTC faculty and deans have been added to this Canvas course shell as this is where we're providing our most current ctcLink related information and the (3) required training links (listed below).

NOTE: Students will be added to a student-focused shell after RTC employees have been fully onboarded.

Spring Qtr Canvas = March 2 Faculty can access Canvas shells
RTC Offices Closed = Feb 28 thru March 11 for Employee Training!

Q: Can I search online for answers to my RTC ctcLink questions?

A: Yes, your RTC ctcLink Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are developing a searchable knowledge base here, https://servicedesk.rtc.edu (Login to RTC's Service Desk Plus (SDP) with your ___@rtc.edu email credentials)

Q: Are faculty required to complete all 3 of the following training courses?

A: Yes, successfully completion of the following (3) training courses is required of all faculty

1. https://sbctc.instructure.com/courses/1850050 (employee training - due by February 2, 2022)
2. https://sbctc.instructure.com/courses/1850054 (faculty training - due by February 2, 2022)
3. https://sbctc.instructure.com/courses/1850056 (student training - due by February 2, 2022)

Q: Is there compensation?

A; There is no additional compensation for completing these as they are part of the faculty bargaining agreement under Section 10.A. 4.a, page 12 for full time faculty, and Section 10.B.1.i, page 13 for adjunct faculty. However, if you already completed these same trainings from another school, you do NOT need to complete them again.
